a regular basis. Several fellowship trained dermatopathologist are heavily involved and are responsible for our
solid dermatopathology training.

Residents
Dr. Roger Sica is co-chief resident who is living his dream learning dermatology. He has a passion for pigmented lesions
of the skin and dermoscopy. He is a proud graduate of Bucknell University and UMDNJ-School of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed
his internship training at Mercy Catholic Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. He plans on continuing his pursuit of excellence
in all aspects of dermatology and cutaneous surgery. Hobbies include acoustic guitar and beach volleyball.
Dr. Aaron Bruce is co-chief resident. He received his bachelors in interdisciplinary studies at Arizona State University.
He obtained his Doctor of Osteopathy from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine/Midwestern University. He completed
his rotating internship at Sun Coast Hospital. He has a strong passion for cutaneous surgery and medical dermatology. He
spends his free time with his wife and baby daughter. He also enjoys jogging and playing guitar.
Dr. Risa Ross is a second year resident. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida. She is a graduate
of Nova Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her internship at Sun Coast Hospital where she served
as chief intern. She hopes to practice in the Tampa Bay area when she completes her residency.
Dr. Johnny Gurgen is a second year resident in dermatology. He is a graduate of Nova Southeastern University, College of
Osteopathic Medicine, class of 2006. Dr. Gurgen has done his internship in internal medicine at Sun Coast Hospital.
Dr. Lyubov Avshalumova is a second year resident in Dermatology. She completed her undergraduate degree in science at College
of Staten Island, New York. She received her DO Degree at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her internship
at Lutheran Medical Center in New York. She is fluent in Russian but also speaks Farsi and Azeri. She loves to travel, play
ping-pong and spend time with her two beautiful sons. She is passionate about medical and surgical Dermatology.
David Judy is a first year resident.
Dr. Rachel Epstein is a first year Dermatology Resident. She received her Bachelors of Science in Biology and Exercise Physiology
at the University of Miami. Upon graduating from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2007, Rachel
completed her rotating internship at Largo Medical Center/Sun Coast Hospital. She has a passion for all aspects of general
dermatology, cosmetic and cutaneous surgery. In her spare time she enjoys swimming, running, biking, pilates and travel.
Rachel is a former Junior Olympic swimmer and Junior National Triathlete Champion.
Dr. Jessica Borowicz Flowers is a first year resident. She received her undergraduate degree in Human Biology from Michigan
State University. She is a graduate of Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, PA. She completed her internship
in Family Medicine at Largo Medical Center/Sun Coast Hospital. She is originally from Traverse City, MI.
